SpooliT's innovative document management solution takes the hard work out of document storage and retrieval.
Think of a SpooliT Archive as your filing system. A typical filing system contains drawers and folders and files. A SpooliT archive is no different. SpooliT requires at least one filing system or Archive in order to perform nearly all functions.
A SpooliT archive typically contains the following:
Selection rules
Automation rules
Archived reports
Categories used to store archived documents
Recipients (eMail users and fax numbers)
Spool file distribution logs (Automated eMail and Export distribution logs)
Excel template definitions
Report Splitting template definitions
Overlay marking template definitions
A SpooliT archive can be stored on any of the following media.
Local PC
Shared drive anywhere on your LAN
The IFS
Optical disk
Any disk storage system
Copied to CD
Copied to DVD
A SpooliT Archive may contain System i, iSeries or AS400 spool files or reports that have been transferred from the System i, iSeries or AS400 computer and stored a shared drive on any storage device. An Archive is analogous to a filing cabinet, whose cabinet drawers are known as Category Groups, whose folders with each drawer are known as Categories, and finally whose
folder's contents are spool files.
You may choose to have more than one archive defined within SpooliT, which may be stored in different physical locations.
Reports that have been archived are automaticallly indexed using report content for easy search and retreival.
Archived Reports can be resent back to your System i, iSeries or AS400 systems. The reports are regenerated with all their original data, formatting and report attributes just as they once existed on your system originally.
